I am so relieved to have made it over halfway! Sorry for spamming, but life has been crazy! I'm calling this the Susan post, because I have deliberately chosen to focus on characters called Susan. Once again, I own none of these things and I make no money.

Secret Seven
Not mine, I make no money. Rated G.

1) A lovely little snippet there! Poor old Suzie - when I think about it, I do feel sorry for her, she would probably have been a lot more use than Pam and Barbara (did either of them ever do anything, I ask myself?) Was Barbara George's sister? I'd forgotten that (mind you, I hardly remember ANYTHING of the Secret Seven - I remember the first adventure very well and then some ideas for the others!)

2) Can't say very much as I haven't really read any of the Susan Discworlds, but it made me laugh! The frustration in the second paragraph was particually well realised (talking from personal experience there? ^_~)

3) I loved this one, although it nearly made me cry. It makes sense, it just explains everything and how things might really have done. The last bit is just wonderful. Brilliant work.

I actually can't remember. I thought at first that she might be Colin's, but then I changed my mind. She must have been somebody's sister...

LOL. My friend Mike says he imagines my teaching to be like hers *g*

I'm very glad you liked it, thank you for the excellent compliment.

I'm not sure she was. I think they just sort of ... were there. Uselessly. (Colin was the evil one that no one could remember - the RP group had to turn the computer on and google the Secret Seven because we could only remember six!)

*grins* That's probably good!

No problem. :)

No one has corrected me, so I'm going to leave it (can't be bothered googling). I'm fairly sure that either Pam or Barbara was SOMEONE's sister, and I think Colin might have been an only child. But, whatever. As you say, they're mostly just there, uselessly.

These were fabulous. You must have an affinity with characters called Susan.

1. Yes, they were mean to her, weren't they?

2. Brilliant. "Children AND monsters. What kind of job WAS this?" *giggles*

3. Oh, so sad. And yes, let's reclaim Susan. I'm on the side of anyone who reclaims Susan.

lol, I didn't mean to do that to you! If I recall, she was pretty mean back! And possibly first...

1) Awww. Good child-voice.

2) Heh heh, yes, very IC ^^ I'm much amused by her comment 'if they really cared...'

3) I totally buy this. I love the way you touch on puberty and all it meant for her.

Congratulations on the halfway point!

Thank you to all. Have to say, I'm fond of Susan from Discworld, she amuses me greatly. And Susan from Narnia does get a raw deal, I think, and also, that whole thing seems to come out of nowhere, characterwise, so I felt a bit of backstory was necessary!

Yeah, I like Discworld!Susan.

I have issues with most of The Last Battle, so anything that makes it seem more plausible/hopeful pleases me.

*commenting on Narnia here* I didn't think of looking at Susan this way. It makes sense. I think I would have been frustrated too if I had grown up and then all of a sudden I was back to being a kid. Really, I don't think I want to go back to elementary school. O_o Poor Susan.

I secretly think that C.S.Lewis is evil for leaving a confused Susan all alone in the world. Boo to him!! Great fic, btw! :D

That always struck me as a particularly random decision. OK, so I'm not religious and may be missing some deeply significant religious parable, but why did he kill their parents as well as the three siblings and Uncle Diggory?
The other random decision was, indeed, Susan. There weren't any real signs that she was going to grow up in a way that he didn't approve, so for me it just came out of nowhere - oh, and Susan's a silly, superficial woman. I mean, what?! So here I was trying to redress the balance a bit.
