obviously, they're real people and if anything like this happened, it was over 40 years before I was born so I wouldn't know about it anyway. G. Angst.
1) This probably requires some Beatles knowledge I'm not privy to/have forgotten but it's very good - the emotions come through really well and it makes sense obviously as the drabble tells what it's about. Sweet.
2) *laughs* Fits with the tone of the book brilliantly - I particually love Caspar's line about how it serves them right for playing football witthout him! Well done! :D
3) *more laughter* I love it. :) The awkwardness at the end is very well realised and it works really well. If you ever have time for any others, I'd love to see them!
It was in one of my textbooks - Paul's mother died the year before he and John met and John's mother got run over after they'd known each other for a year.
I ought to have made it clearer - I taught a lesson which told me that Paul's mother died a year before they met (cancer I think) and then John's mother was knocked down by a car a year after.
Oooh, glad it worked. I very much like Douglas, actually, poor sod!
LOL, I like Friends. I was trying to decide if we could tape over our old videos of it, and a bit of watching convinced me that no, we couldn't. But - Ross's hug'n'roll was a classic episode, very funny.
Glad you liked it. I had to teach a lesson on how Paul's mum died before they met and then John's mum died a year after, and I made a mental note.
The Ogre Downstairs is an excellent book, very funny and very real but, I think, a teeny bit dated now (record players, OMG!)
I will try to write more but I found it very difficult to get the voices - they're so distinctive - so I might leave it until I get back to England and can watch some episodes.
We used to have two copies of the ogre downstairs, but I lent it to someone on my Latin course who never gave it back and then moved away. Very irritating.

The second one brought back the Ogre to me so well that it just made me want to re-read it NOW.
The third was just classic, and despite only having ever seen one episode of Friends (I know, I fail at TV) it was brilliant and made me giggle.

The second one I don't know the fandom of but I liked the little details and the dialogue felt convincing.
The third was funny and plausible and I second the request for more if you ever get time :D

I shall keep an eye out for it (I'm trying to track down a copy of Howl's Moving Castle atm, so I shall look for that one too).
We can wait ;)
