When I was in high school, we read a story that had a similar feel to this. It was about how women were oppressed from doing just about anything for the longest time in America and the main character eventually going crazy and wrapping herself in moldy wall paper. Despite the message it was sending, it was a really bad and boring story--since it was told strictly from an outside perspective (I.E., no thought process for the main character revealed), it looked like she went insane without any provocation.

This drabble pwns that story completely. It's much better and it's a fraction of the size. Nice job XD

That wasn't The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, was it? I can't remember if that's an American story or not...

THAT WAS IT!! That's the story right there. I thought it was set in America but I didn't care for it so much that I am probably wrong XD

It might have been American, I can't remember ^^ we had it in a book of short stories, but it wasn't one of the ones we studied.
