[Title] Blind Faith [Fandom] Death Note/The Handmaid's Tale [Rating] PG-13 for references to torture [Notes/Summary] At the Red Centre, Misa keeps her faith.
Oh, I love both of these. Poor Misa, always thinking Raito will come. *hugs her* But being so brave and bitter all at the same time.
The second one was brilliantly creepy. I really liked it actually - it felt terribly canon somehow and I felt so bad for him. That one was just brilliant.
I really like Misa's combination of bravery and horribly misplaced faith. (You actually gave me the idea for this one! You were talking about my Malory Towers/Handmaid's Tale crossover from an earlier Lent, but you said "Misa in the Handmaid's Tale" by mistake. I STOLE IT AND RAN WITH IT ^^)
Thank you! First time writing the actual Repo characters, so I'm glad you liked it. *cuddles Nathan*
I've not read The Handmaid's Tale since I was sixteen, but I remember being very disturbed. Misa's behaviour and devotion to Light almost seems heartwarming until you remember what she has faith in, exactly.
I really like the bit about her being like a doll that's never been taken out of its box, too. Things like that raise the idea of her innocence as a person. Because she is, in a way, but not in a way that is necessarily good, just in a way that's ignorant.
The combination of innocence/purity and evil/death/trauma in Misa is a theme I really like. And how ignorance and faith play into that. Helps that she dresses like a doll quite a lot, too ^^
