[The message is pretty elementary to hack. There's nothing worth hiding in it; Alex just doesn't feel like spamming the entire network. Not that he really expects any of this to get through.]
[Aaand his alloted smile-time has expired. Hope you enjoyed it, folks.]
...Crap, it has. I haven't seen you since... [He glances off-camera, briefly, at the bag of CDs that now contain his film. It's a psychological memory aid, a half-logicless habit, like chewing your pencil during an exam.] ...the end of that telling-the-truth event.
[He glances over her shoulder, trying to spot the security cameras she put on her wall. Here is an important question:] Are you safe?

Yes. Yes, of course.
My security system was on at all times. [Except for when I went out and couldn't be bothered with the bot.] There was no alarm at any time and I made sure to watch the material every morning.
I'm quite sure that at this point he is either unaware of my attempt to contact him or indifferent towards it. [I should know, I even checked the forest twice and there was nothing!] Still, I shall keep recording. [For a while longer, at least.]
[Gosh, that truth event. That sure was a lot of fun, wasn't it?]
[...Alex would not be impressed with the details in those there narration boxes, young lady. :| As it is, though, he's relieved (and maybe a little surprised, after her lacklustre reaction to the idea) that she's been so diligent.
Then again--]
Good. Don't get lax.
[--the Operator struck him after four years of radio silence. A week is nothing. And on that cheerful note, he says seriously:]
I'm... there were a couple of things I wanted to ask you, actually.
I... no? [Why would he even.] It was about meeting up, I stuck it on your door. Unless the event made it catch fire or something. It really didn't want me talking to people.
[A grocery list. A grocery list. That gets a few seconds of blank staring. Screw this mansion, seriously.]
...Yeah, an hour is good.
[He'd rather it was now, but... this can wait an hour. Yes, it can wait an hour, he tells himself sternly. He can't expect her to drop everything the second he needs her to.
Without looking down, he fishes around off camera for his half-full coffee mug, finds it, lifts it.]
[Interior, ALEX'S ROOM. It is poorly-lit as usual, and warm with the hum of cameras. Enter, stage right: ALEX KRALIE. He moves towards the door downstage left and peers through the spyhole at LAMB, before undoing the locks along the doorframe and pulling open the door to admit her.
...She'd better have that bot with her, or else there'll be words.]
[ There is absolutely no bot in sight when Lamb enters the room cheerfully. ]
Alex. Good to see you again.
[ ~SMILE~ ]
[ ...there is however a bot whirring loudly around the corner just about now. Hold still, Alex, while it bleeps and determines whether you're supposed to be shot or not. ]
[He stays still, but only because he's waiting for it to get in so he can shut the door. His mind's on other things than remembering that the bot has a gun. He's tense, closed. A lot tenser than he was on the screen an hour ago.]
I'm glad you're okay.
[His eyes are dragged to the blank screen of his wall communicator.]
...
Alex?
Reply
He flicks his own video feed on, visibly relieved.]
Finally. How're -- hey, your arm! When did that happen?
[The sling is off! That gets a surprised look, and then (I hope you're sitting down) an honest-to-god smile.]
Reply
[Oh my my.]
It's been a while, hasn't it?

Please, go ahead. Or would you rather talk in person?
Reply
In person. The comms are only so secure.
[A thought occurs:]
...Did you ever get my note?

[ Or could he...? *frown* ]
Unless you made a request for eggs, milk, laundry detergent and tangerines?

No, it really did not. Evidently it turned your note into a grocery list.
[ But anyway... ]
I still have some work to finish, but I can be upstairs in about an hour, if that is all right with you?
