The Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust has a nasty catch-22 in its treatment of transfolk. Oxfordshire PCT will only fund gender reassignment when ones' condition, through non-treatment, has made one too ill to undergo surgery. There's a long-ish report on the subject here, and a petition to sign. The policy appears to be up for review soon, so

Wow. And I thought the US was weird. One of my past girlfriends had to go from the US to the Philippines for such a surgery due to bad rules.
