Characters: Ceireia Shadiene morbid_bloom and Sayaka Miki maidens_prayer When: Dec. 7 Where: Paradise Hospital Rating: G - PG-13 Summary: Ceireia has been sent to greet this new arrival.
Sayaka laid quietly on the bed she had found herself in. She hadn't expected to find herself in the hospital of all places. Sure, she had been injured, but wasn't she able to heal most her major wounds? The first thing that came to mind was that Madoka had brought her here--Kyoko or that transfer student would never do such a thing. But then, why wasn't Madoka at her side?
As she sat up, Sayaka looked toward the door. She was half-tempted to see if this was the same hospital Kyousuke was at, though she had a feeling it wasn't. But that particular hospital wasn't too far from where she last was, was it? Sayaka doubted Madoka would take her to any other hospital, too. So then where was she? And where was Madoka?
Her gaze still fixated at the door, Sayaka found her eyes grow wide as someone turned the knob.
Ceireia stepped into the room, pausing for a moment to stare at the much younger girl. She couldn't understand what the other girl said, but it would certainly help to introduce herself anyway.
"My name is Ceireia. Before you speak again, you should try speaking common. All you really need to do is concentrate on what you want to say, and it should come out understandable."
She nodded quietly to herself. That sounded about right.
Sayaka blinked at the older woman as she spoke in an unusual language. But what was even stranger was that Sayaka could understand it. She opened her mouth, but recalled what had just been said to her.
"I've gotta 'concentrate', huh..." Sayaka muttered, still speaking in her native tongue. "I wonder if I can really pull it off." She closed her eyes, and tried to focus. It felt harder than trying to think of what to wish for. But Sayaka was certain she could do it. After all, she had been able to communicate with two of her good friends telepathically, hadn't she? Never mind that that was through another's power, it still counted!
It took Sayaka a few minutes, but at last, she had a feeling she could speak "common", just like the woman. "Where...am I?"
Ceireia sat down on one of the nearby beds as the other girl spoke in her native tongue. She was patient, as she knew it took longer for some to master speaking common than others. Then she seemed to have figured it out, causing Ceireia to smile faintly.
"This world is called Paradise. It's not as nice as it sounds, but we're all stuck here. Apparently we've all been dragged in by the gods of our worlds as pawns in their game. I don't know what all the little details are, but that's the general idea."
