Something about this place was familiar. Almost painfully so. But she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Miku had spent her time since waking up in the hospital bed staring out a nearby window, lost in thought as she tried to figure out what felt so familiar about this place. Her thoughts were broken, however, as she heard a voice on the other side of the room. She jumped a little, then looked over toward the door, seeing ...

... seeing ... a little green hedgehog.

But even he seemed familiar.

She took a moment or two to realize she was staring, and then she laughed sheepishly and offered a smile.

"I guess I am!"

"Hey there."

Had he known what she'd been feeling he could have identified with it, since he'd gone through the same thing. Still, he offered a friendly smirk, assuming she'd been staring because she'd never seen a green hedgehog.

"I'm Manic and I'll be your guide to this city of Paradise for the day," he joked.

Miku laughed a little, then got out of bed and stood, bowing to Manic politely.

"Ne, it's nice to meet you, Manic-san! I'm Miku!"

She was going to ask how far Paradise was from Japan. But another thought had come to her mind before she could ask.

"... have we met before?"

Oh please just put him on the spot right away. Manic coughed and glanced out the window. "Might have met a few months back, yeah," he said, not wanting to go fully into how.
