Hahahahahaha, so you said. I looked around TVGuide for any other mentions of the show being in jeopardy, but nothing came up.
I mean, come on! Okay, How I Met Your Mother is (by all accounts) good, but BL got an Emmy nom for Best Dramatic Series this year. What the hell is it doing on a list with Cashmere Mafia and Supernatural?
Although that makes me wonder...have they canceled Carpoolers yet?
I can sooo answer this! I've because quite the savant on how this works and in turn ....how Ausellio thinks.
First of all don't panic. BL is safe. Even though the key numbers took a hit this season...it's still a major critics' favorite...which gives it a little teflon.
That said...next season the network is going to have it under a microscope. BL is of an age (as in series duration) where the costs are climbing....while the OMG!!!11 demographic proves the fact the ADD meds are still needed well past puberty. In other words, production costs go up when the old contracts expire and new ones are signed while the money the advertisers are will to spend is going down because there are fewer 18-24 eyeballs tuning in. It all boils down to the bottom line. The network might use this excuse fact to trim here and there. ABC is infamous for cutting orders in half. I'd start sweating for the 2010 season if the order is below 19
( ... )
I was going to demand to know why there weren't more X-Files ripoffs on the air now, since, like SATC, it has a movie in production (and since you're clearly in charge of such things), but then I realized that Supernatural probably is an XF ripoff. And Life seems kind of X-Filesesque, with the weirdo male cop and his levelheaded female counterpart.
