notice to spammers and LJ abusers

Someone tried to friend me; and when I went to see their page it crashed my computer. I will be reporting it. I am really tired of comment spam and related issues on my LJ. I sincerely hope that they pay attention and fix this. So far from what I've viewed on the community end, (those who really do care about getting rid of the spammers,) abuse has been being reported in huge amounts for the past few months now and it has not lightened up as of yet.
I've been on lj for about six years now; I'd hate to leave it; though this would make me seriously consider it. The spam is getting out of control.
