Ha! I know it, William nerdiness is showing, it's interesting that Spike knows them well and they only see his annoying rebel vampire facade. And snooping Buffy, she should try again another time, i'm sure she'll be surprised

Told you ;) Spike is a good poker player, he keeps his cards close while he keenly observes the other players.

I think Buffy is too chastised right now to try snooping in Spike's stuff again, but maybe another time. I love fics post-Spike-moving-into-his-crypt where Buffy finds herself alone there and ends up exploring all the random stuff Spike owns and learning all kinds of fun facts about him ♥

Was hoping Buffy might find Spike in a state of undress down in the cabin basement.....but really enjoying the story, especially the contrast between day and night. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Hahahaha, I don't think she'd appreciate that at this stage ;) Well, she might, but she'd deny it to hell and back! Glad to hear you like the story though. The descriptions were one of my favorite parts to write :D

This continues to be really fun! The main plot is intriguing (what's up with the water spirit?) but it was the scene with Joyce and Xander that had me giggling.

FWIW I always assumed that Spike knew more about magic than the scoobies realized. He was able to perform the ritual to restore Drusilla with only slayer-related issues. "There's always consequences" seems to me a pretty healthy attitude in this 'verse!

Xander works best when he's the brief comic relief and not allowed to say anything jerk-y! I am not really a Xander fan at all ;)

Same, same. I know the early seasons are inconsistent and all, but you'd think the clever brain that got Dru healed would also manage to get the chip out via magic or something else. Anyway, that's an entirely different and unrelated tangent!
