THE BURNER DIARIES

WEDNESDAY, 8/22:

Unable to load the car Tuesday, because of rain. Got everything packed and ready to go, though. Tubs simplify Car Tetris, a great deal. Rolled out, 1000.

US 48 between I-81 and I-79 is... interesting. It's ok westbound, but not gonna do that on the way back.

Lunched in Nitro, WV. Crashed in Louisville.

I am surprised (for no good reason) to read that you went to Burning Man, which just goes to show that it's hard to get to know people through the Internet. Your Burner journal reminds me of things I've heard from a family member who's been going for the last few years - she has, despite her best intentions, wound up as the leader of a camp, because she has a knack for logistics and organization. Sounds like you had a good time, even if it was occasionally painful.

I've been wanting to go since about 2013. Been making Regional Burns since 2011, and started planning this around 2015.

What actually got me into Burning was reading, around '09-'10, a post on here from a medieval friend. He was talking about going to a Burn, in mid-February, at Cooper's Lake campground. This is where I've been going in August since 1981, for Pennsic.
