Oh, this is lovely! I really enjoy the idea of the two of them as fairly jealous, resentful small boys, suspicious of each other (and also being constrained by being forced to be on their best behavior.)

Their progression through the years, as they gradually become more comfortable with each other (and then very comfortable with each other) is very well drawn.

Boromir could not help but love it, and for once he need not be ashamed of his own gift, as evidenced by Théodred look of shy pleasure.

They stayed awake till dawn watching each other
