So beautiful.

Such a wonderful mood and so wonderfully written. It is good, Aragorn is there to teach and remind his son of what really they all fought for.

Thank you so much.

Happy Holidays to you :)

I'm so glad you liked it! It didn't come out terribly cheerful, I'm afraid, but the Yuletide-ish stories out there already are all so good I didn't want to try and emulate them. Hence the decision to go for a different story. And Christmas is supposed to be about new beginnings, too.

Happy Holidays back! :)

You know, there is nothing wrong with 'not terribly cheerful' - you were writing Aragorn, after all ;)

Thanks again :)

I like this very much; it's solemn but not somber, and the formality of the language is in keeping with the formality of the father-son relationship. Clearly they love each other but responsibility is paramount in both their lives. (And hurrah for the only LotR fic in this exchange!)

Goodness, is it really the only LOTR fic in the exchange? Wow. I'm glad I went for LOTR then - it was nice to write LOTR again, anyway; it's been a while.

Afraid so; more than half the participants listed LotR as one of their fandoms, I think, but it just worked out that you were the only one who chose to write it! For which I am glad. *g* I've written several LotR drabbles this month, but no longer fics.

I rarely read LotR fic as I am so nitpicky about it, but I really enjoyed this. It is wonderful to hear all the old place names again, and the relationship between father and son was beautifully drawn. You did a wonderful job. A Christmas gift for all of us.

Thanks, GM. I enjoyed writing LOTR fic again - though my geography's got rusty!

What a lovely story. Eldarion obviously needed this lesson, and is fortunate to live in a time when hw can learn it at his leisure. It was good to see Aragorn remembering Gandalf and acknowledging the price so many paid for freedom.
Sweet fic! Thank you. :)

I don't read LotR fics that often either, but this was such a beautiful, moving scene. Lovely work!
