Oooh, prezzie! I like how this moves from dark to light -- or less dark, at least. My favorite part is the new sails...

made of old washerwomen’s dresses Elizabeth had bargained for. They kept washing and washing and washing them, till their hands were raw, but one can still spot a hint of what they used to be if they look carefully.

That's such a romantical notion, that sails made of beautiful old dress fabric could hold against the Caribbean winds.

And of course part four is lovely.

I like the description of the ship, especially the sails. Poor Elizabeth, haunted by those ghosts.
