Hahahaha! I absolutely cannot bear the Legolas/Gimli pairing, so it was great fun to give Gimli the opportunity to be heard on the subject.

Legolas/Aragorn is the one I absolutely cannot bear. I don't know enough about dwarves to do Gimli justice, but I don't think he sailed off with Legolas for no reason. *veg*

I always listen to the cast commentary while I'm doing my holiday baking - it's like having a party - and I was so awash in the glory of that voice that I just sat down and wrote this all in one fell swoop. Glad you enjoyed it!
