Ramadan Is Around The Corner

I thought I'd bring this topic up to spark conversation and questions about this oft misunderstood Islamic observance.

It's amazing how quickly time flies.  This has been one of my busiest years and most spiritually neglectful.  I hope to be able to participate in the fasting this year, but health issues may make that not possible.

We have a large Asian immigrant community around here, so Ramadam, and by extension, Eid Mubarak are big deals.

Alas, there are a lot of "cultural Muslim" youths who like t get wasted then attack us non-Asians in the area, much to the disgust of the majority, who are actually very cool and friendly about it, especially when they learn I know about Islam.

you've probly noticed also there are many people lumped under the muslim umbrella who do unislamic things (9/11 is a glaring example). i think most faiths promote the mindset of being known by one's deeds. but, then many young people are very misguided and need to be tempered by time. many are facing identity crises.
