Still in CT. Mom is doing better - kidneys working, breathing tube out, moved to regular hospital floor. We need to figure out how it is going to work, getting her back to her house, but... one step at a time.
You are probably already using this resource but just in case - call Juniper's EAP program. You or Alia can call - all services are available directly to family members. They should be able to at least find contact info for you for a variety persons/agencies in your mom's area (or Arlington) that will be helpful in getting your mom follow-on care, whether that is a rehabilitation center, visiting nurse, etc.
Cognitively... still a bit confused. I think the sedatives and the shock haven't worn off quite yet. The kids - fairly well. In the middle of the night W did wake up and say, "I hope Granny G. doesn't die." We explained that although we had been very worried about Granny's health, we now thought she was going to be OK. W also has an ear infection and upper respiratory infection himself; at least, that was what the doctor at the children's emergency room said yesterday...
