Hope its ok to be a little excited but I have news!

Dec 30, 2009 19:22

I have had a rather fraught day at work but at last "we" found an office for me to move into straight away!! What happened was that me and another secretary found a possible office and asked if I could use it short-term and then 30 minutes later I got offered a better office ( moving plans etc. )

Yay! Congratulations! I'm so glad you'll have a permanent place to be, and that it sounds lovely. (I like the idea of hand-drawn pictures, I have to admit. *g*) Wonderful news! ::Hugs::

And, yes, I'm off away tomorrow. It's going to be a terribly long day, but as long as it goes smoothly, I'll be happy enough. Please don't let there be traffic jams, or three-hour security checks, or "incidents". *g* At least the weather will be cooperating at my destination--very cold, but no active snow. Whew.

I am already feeling that I will be able to cope now I know where I will be working from next week.

What time is your flight due to take off?

Although I wish you didn't have to leave so soon I have realised we have to let you go home so you can come back again! *g*

Thanks for the present of the story you posted today - I am saving it for tomorrow when I get in from work so I have something special to look forward to before I go out tomorrow night. *vbg*

My flight is due to take off at 2:05. I'm being picked up by a taxi at 7:45. Please let there be clear traffic all the way!

I'm so glad we were able to meet, however briefly, at the Scarsdale! I look forward to hearing more from you through LJ!

Oh jolly good - nice that they got it sorted so quickly! I didn't realise that it was you and your new consultant who needed the office - so double-y thank goodness! Hurrah for it all working out! *g*

The more I get to know the new consultant the more I feel I am going to like my new job! *g*

Also, found out that for £2 a month I can join the "Kitchen club" near the new office and have the use of tea, coffee, milk, bread and fruit teas - seems a very generous deal so I will hand my £2 in on Monday and see how it works out.

Hope it all works out okay, the tea thing sounds good but I would need choccie biscuits as part of the deal!

Biscuits are in the deal and it appears all sorts of goodies I have yet to discover them all! Lol.

Had a slight hiccup yesterday or should I say last year *g* when a colleague tried to claim the job was hers and not mine - she has her own secure job (more secure than mine) and the best office of all the admin people but that was perhaps not enough. I feel a visit to the union rep may be needed if she creates problems - life is never easy is it?! Just as I thought things were looking up.

This afternoon I've been watching Mixed Doubles - the lads are good therapy.

P.S. Internet connection has started playing up again so am learning patience. *vbg*
