As of today, I had 4 days left, until the OFFICIAL beginning of my project. I feel like I am counting down the days to something grand...something BIG! Something so much more, than just a project, that will last one year. But, for me, it is big, isn't it? What a different attitude than you had before. Do you have an activity to replace the habit of shopping? I've read that you can only replace one habit with another rather than use willpower to just stop a habit. If you can crochet or study or read a favorite author when you want to shop, shop, shop then it might help you stop the shopping. Another way is to tap into the support group and find a buddy to talk to whenever you get the blues and want to shop.

Whatever you do - I smell success upon the wind this time.

OT: The wildfire has calmed down a little and is still movng away from our location. Homes have been lost and many are evacuated but NO lives lost or injuries have been reported.

Hugs,

I agree with kae1crafts. It sounds like you are identifying times when you have used shopping to fill a need. . . . or a perceived need. It seems like it would help for you to plan ahead for something more healthy to do when you feel you need to escape when things press upon you or leave you feeling empty. What other things can you do/turn to that help you feel good about life or yourself? What other things can you enjoy?

Or, just in general, having a list of other diversions or entertainment might be helpful to turn to in times of temptation.
