I am on a diet! Its official. The idea came into my head when I was struggling to get into my size 8 jeans. I weighed myself this morning and was horrified to discover that I weight 58kg/9st2! And, most annoying of all, none of it has gone on my boobies!!!! Yes, according to those BMI charts I am still in the "OK" range, however I just look ( Read more... )

The best advice I was given regarding exersize and weight loss is that it takes roughly 30 minutes of low impact cardio, like walking, to burn the sugar out of your blood, and get your body to start working on the fat. The faster you get your heart rate up, the shorter the time is between sugar burn, and fat burn. It's true that when I cut out my sodas, and took one hour walks, I lost 10 pounds.

Also, weight training it's self may not help you burn fat, but it will help your metabolism, and endurance.

Thanks for the advice:)

I tend to spend the last 30 minutes doing a repeat of the previous 30 minutes exercises. I know that you're supposed to only work on one or two areas per workout, but couldn't spend a whole hour on my upper body, my arms are too weak! Gradually building up, and I'm finding that crunches are becoming easier now.

I tried jogging on the spot last night to get my HR up, but my left knee wouldn't last more than 2 minutes before it was too painful :/ I did go out for a long walk doing errands this morning though. I walk at just under 5 miles per hour (I have shortass legs!) for about an hour and spent another 30 minutes doing the grocery shopping, so I'm not sure how fast that was. I'd like to do more walking as the weather improves.

I've also substituted my snacky food for a few peanuts (it only takes a couple to make me feel full!) and only drink water to drink. I don't even drink alcohol, but joke with my husband that his beer goes to my belly ;)
