My personal ode to Adrienne Rich, because she changed my life when I most needed it.
Where I am Adrienne alone [ April 2012 ]
1. the great dark birds of history screamed and plunged
2. the last collapse of primary color
3. the furniture of love
4. divine astronomy is nothing to it
5. All wars are useless to the dead
6. a new kind of love your life has never allowed
7. you read on because even the alphabet is precious
8. the formal network of the lie
9. Language cannot do everything
10. Let me have this dust
11. When Aunt is dead, her terrified hands will lie / Still ringed with ordeals she was mastered by.
12. It will be short, it will take all your breath
13. has Nature shown her household books to you, daughter-in-law, that her sons never saw?
14. a woman, partly brave and partly good
15. Her mind full to the wind
16. She is going as the Transparent lady and all her nerves will be visible.
17. Her stockings are torn but she is beautiful.
18. she whom the moon ruled
19. heart sweating through my body
20. All those dead letters rendered into the oppressor's language
21. I'd call it love if love didn't take so many years
22. That "old last act"!

25. You know, I think that men love wars…
26. such hands might carry out an unavoidable violence with such restraint, with such a grasp of the range and limits of violence that violence ever after would be obsolete

29. It is only a door.
