Is it just me, or do some of the 30 Days episodes feel like they're throwing the underdog/minority belief into the fire ( Read more... )

i think it would be the same thing.

Athiest talking about how ridiculous christianity because it has no solid support.

Pro choicers bashing the pro-lifer saying she doesn't believe in a woman's right.

I think it would be equal, not more extreme. Although I would love to see the atheist/christian one switched.

I agree. I think, though, that it might be hard to find an anti-choice person willing to live in a pro-choice environment for 30 days.

Yes, I'd like to see those flipped as well. I doubt they'll do it, though, because it would retread the same material, which TV shows usually prefer to avoid.

I'd like to see some episodes done "Trading Places" style, with one person from each side placed in the other world simultaneously. (Two issues I think would benefit from this are Jews/Palestinians and Liberals/Conservatives.) Sure, the show might have to expand to 90 minutes or more on those, but I'm sure we could live with that. :-)

One of the things that tends to happen in the show is that the fundamentalist/cultural norm goes to stay with the liberal/counter culture -- straight guy lives with gay guy, SUV drivers live off the grid, anti-illegal goes to live with the illegals, stressed out business guy tries new age.

I think that the show is treading a line, wanting to show that they aren't "out to get" the fundamentalists. And thus the last two episodes have taken the oppposite approach, placing the more liberal person in the fundamentalist camp.
