I'm in the process of sifting through the guide. Thanks to the gentleman who forwarded it. Outdated or not, it's been helpful so far. I found a reasonable apartment and temporary clothes--any tailors around. A job, well, I'll have to figure that one out in a while.

This is the City. It's 2009. They're here. So now what.

What was that? If you don't mind me asking.

I look at someone every now and then.

Look at them? That can't be too bad. I don't know how the pay would go. I hope that works for you.

You could try making a few more pointless announcements.

I'm getting used to this form of communication. Sorry.

Well...now, you adapt.

Adapting sounds logical enough.

It takes a while, though. But most people here manage.

Jobs are a problem for many newcomers, here, it seems.

It warms Reeve's heart to have another middle aged, kind of paunchy guy around. urbandev March 17 2009, 00:27:46 UTC
You're new to the City, I take it.

Work isn't hard to find here. The turnover rate is quite high. At any given time there's a myriad of cafes and bars looking for serving help. If you want something more specialized, you may have to be more proactive in your hunt. Just about every business you can imagine exists in some form or another. Or you could speak to the police force, if you have the neccessary skills.

As for "now what"... as much as it pains me to say it, you may as well get comfortable. There's no telling how long you'll be here for.

Thanks for the advice. I am new to these parts. It's amazing how an economy can survive with so many coming in as well as out. That's...weird.

We adapt. We have to. Honestly, the greater barrier is the curses. Most worthy employers will state outright that they're flexible about time off.
