Title: Night
Pairing: RyoShige
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Do I really need this?
Summary: Ryo and Shige don't have much, just a few dark moments.
A/N: Just felt like writing, then I stared at my prompt table for a while, and this came out. Enjoy, and leave me a comment, please!
By day, Nishikido Ryo and Kato Shigeaki were mere colleagues. Ryo insistently bullied Shige, nothing bad, a jab here and there. They did their work professionally, maybe slipping in a bit of fan-service, nothing drastic though.
But once the sun sets, and they finish work, they leave at their own pace. Ryo’s usually the first one to go, quickly followed by Yamashita. Some evenings the two of them go out, to bar or a pub, but most times they don’t have any kind of connection until the next morning when they meet up for work again.
Tegoshi and Masuda are usually gone pretty fast too, leaving Shige and Koyama to their own devices. They chat about anything and everything while packing up, and then soon splitting up at the train station, going to their own directions. Koyama waves for way too long at Shige’s back, but Shige doesn’t turn once, eager to get home.
By the time Shige gets home, it’s already dark. In the comforts of the early night, he slips into the apartment building, unlocking a door that doesn’t have his name on it. The moment he gets in, a pair of warm arms circle him (the arms are rather short, but he won’t say it out loud).
Then there’s a low voice speaking to his ear: “Okaeri.” It’s the same pattern that repeats itself each and every night, but Shige can’t seem to get enough of it. So he turns around in the shorter man’s arms, subtly toeing of his shoes before pressing a kiss to the others lips.
“Tadaima, Ryo,” he whispers against Ryo’s lips before the older man is already pulling away and yanking him towards the kitchen.
“What took you so long? I already finished cooking!” Ryo asks, mock-angrily. Shige chuckles, it’s the same thing every night.
“You know I always take the same train. It’s you who insisted that I take the train home,” Shige answers, smile playing in the corners of his lips. Ryo glares for a moment before pushing Shige down to a chair and dumping a big pile of curry onto his plate. Then he takes a seat opposite the younger man, watching as Shige wolfs the food down, somehow still managing to savor each bite. It’s Ryo’s turn to smile, he knows Shige likes his home-made foods, but it still warms his heart to see the contented expression on the others face. Satisfied, he starts on his own plate.
Later on, they’re sitting on the windowsill of Ryo’s apartment, watching people down on the street hurrying home in the darkness of the night. Shige sits with his back against the wall, and Ryo sits between his legs, back against his chest. They’re quiet, Ryo drawing small circles with his fingertips to Shige’s palm. Then he stops altogether, and looks out with a sigh.
“You know… Sometimes I wish we could be like them. Not caring whether it’s day or night to be together. I’d like to be with you in daylight too,” Ryo says quietly, and Shige feels something wet fall onto his hand. Ryo leans back even more if possible and Shige turns his face to his neck, leaving a few butterfly kisses there before turning Ryo’s face to look him in the eyes.
“Someday, Ryo,” he whispers before kissing the older man softly. When they pull away, Ryo looks him in the eyes again. “I promise, someday,” Shige assures him again.
They sit there for a few moments before Shige pushes Ryo up and tugs him into the bedroom. There’s not much of the darkness left anymore, and soon they’ll have to revert back to being just colleagues. It’s not much what they have, the few hours in the darkness, but for now they wouldn’t change it for anything. Because someday, someday they’ll have all the time in the world, the light and the dark.

On another note, I want to write some Arashi stuff. I've been having a drama marathon again. Two days, and I'm almost finished with Hana Yori Dango 2 after watching the first season yesterday. I probably would've finished it too, but today there was some school stuff I had to do for tomorrow so...
Oh, and I just realized, this is the second consecutive #025 I've written, since the last post was my #025 Akame prompt xD
That's it.
