Matt snorted into his beer and choked a little, laughing as he coughed helplessly.

Brian glared at him. “Yeah, I hope that hurt,” he said.

“Totally worth it,” came Matt’s reply.

I spit up my tea when I read that.

I love it (and I love Chris) so I cannot wait for more!

Ha! Thanks - that part made me laugh when I wrote it (not that I'm conceited, I just always make myself laugh...it's other people that are tricky!)

Oh my god...Chris Clark is my baby. I absolutely adore him and I've been looking for a way to use him, and this one just seemed to work. Hopefully you'll like the rest!

believe me, I always make myself laugh by things I write and often times when someone else reads it, they don't laugh...so I totally understand.

my sister and I fight over who liked Chris first...I usually lose. and I love this pairing and I'm not even a Caps fan.

Oh, the travel blog...that thing had me enthralled for the entire week when it was being posted - I couldn't stop reading it! My favorite part? Ovechkin and Semin each getting stung by jellyfish. Silly Russians XD

...talking as guys chattered excitedly, happy to be back even for just a preseason game after a long season of lockout-induced silence. and let some of the others run by, shouting as they raced to their rooms.

At first blush, you think: Guys wouldn't do this, but after considering it for a minute, I really think some would -- particularly the guys who are at an NHL camp for the first time. I really like this bit. I like how those two graphs reflect the excitement that must come from being an NHL player. Getting paid to play a game? Hell, I'd run screaming too.

Yeah, I struggled with that part a bit but my main point there was to show how extremely young this team was after the lockout year and therefore how excited they would be all the time.
