Title: Proudest ever.
Pairing: 2min
Rating: G
Summary: Taemin and Minho support their daughter in her first school play.
A/N: I am both parts really proud of this and also ashamed at how stupid this is
'Hurry up, we have to get good seats,' Minho whined at Taemin.
Taemin finished washing his hands, rolling his eyes as he grabbed a piece of paper towel. 'There's still fifteen minutes until the play starts, Minho.'
'But I want to get seats close enough to get a good recording! This is our daughter's first school play.' Minho dragged Taemin out of the toilets, patting the bag he carried to make sure the camcorder was still in there. They walked into the assembly hall, Minho wide-eyed with excitement as he took in the dimmed lights and the drawn red velvet curtains.
They were still one of the earliest guests there, managing to get second row and they settled into the seats set out, next to two other parents who had a programme in their lap. Minho took out the camcorder, fiddling with it - it was fully charged, with two spare batteries in his bag just in case.
'Tae, let's record a message.'
Taemin couldn't protest, as Minho had turned the camcorder to face them and was already grinning goofily, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
'Hi, Minjee! Right now, your appas are waiting for you to come on the stage for your first play. We're so proud of you, aren't we, yeobo?'
Taemin patted Minho affectionately on the shoulder at the pet name. 'Yeah, we are. You're gonna look so cute in your costume. You probably won't remember this, but I spent three nights learning how to sew just for you.'
'Anyway,' Minho continued. 'We're gonna stop now to save battery for your appearance. When you watch this when you're 18, just remember that we love you and we always will.'
'So cheesy,' Taemin sighed mockingly.
'Shh,' Minho said, snapping the camcorder shut. 'It's because we do.'
Taemin kissed him on the cheek as a reply, not bothering to tease him again.
The mother on the other side leant over. 'It's really so cute how you're so supportive of your daughter,' she gushed. 'Tell me, what is she in the play?'
They were distracted from replying as the lights lit up the stage, the curtains pulling open at either side to reveal the scene. Five year olds stood on the stage, looking lost as the music blared over the speakers.
The mum on the other side leant over again. 'You see that fairy? That's my daughter, Cho Hee.' She smiled, waving enthusiastically.
'Look, Minho! There's Minjee.'
'She looks so cute in the costume you made.' They shared a warm gaze with each other, before turning again, staring transfixed at their daughter and trying to get her attention.
'So who is your daughter?' The woman enquired again.
'Oh,' Taemin said, distracted. 'Look at the left side of the stage. She's the second tree on the right.' He beamed at her proudly. 'Minho, isn't she just absolutely darling?'
'Yeah,' Minho replied, looking for all the world the proudest father there had ever been. 'Tae, I think she gets that stage presence from us. Look at her, isn't she the best tree you've ever seen?'
A/N: we all know this is what would happen.
