Volanz startled, which was a fairly typical Volanzish response to the sight of another troll. He wasn't even used to his friends being around him yet. And this definitely was not one of his friends. A yellowblood, too.

He raised his shield, peering warily across the sharp edged top.

"then \\\hat are you doing in ///y land?"

Why couldn't somebody else be here? He knew Meiran would've took this situation by the chitinous wind hole in one hand with a knife in the other, and Rocard would've known what to say, and Ananta would not have been afraid. But he was not any of them, and could do none of those things.

At least he was red. He didn't really feel like dealing with a blueblood getting indignant.

Volanz sighed.

Holding up the shield helped. It gave him a feeling of being separate from the problem, there was something between him and this guy.

He still couldn't quite make eye contact, though. Those shades sure were weird and it didn't help.
