Okay. Let me just.

...Wow.

I read a lot of the fanfics posted on the hetalia community, but I never actually comment on any of them. But this one. This one is good enough to make me break that habit.

You are, just. Wow.

There aren't words.

Your characterization for both countries is fantastic. Just, amazingly awesome.

I only noticed one thing.
'And yet, for all the outrage that had launched him to his feet ,' I think is what you mean.

Thank you so much for this fic. ;A;

Dude, your characterization is spot-on. I just kept going "Yes, yes exactly!" at America's problems. And everything. And this is amazing. And yeah. *not articulate* Thank you! ^^

And thank YOU for the compliments. :D I was really worried about this actually, since I didn't have a chance to get it checked over before posting. I'm glad you liked it. <3

This was great! There aren't enough Hetalia fics involving recent events. ♥

(Psst. Loved the switching of the use of Nation names to human ones.)

I was always better at current events than history. XD

And I forget when I decided I was going to use the human names to emphasize attitude changes... but I'm glad it worked.

(PS- ICON TWINS.)

wh...holy...damn. WHOA. I love it. So much. I've been thinking about this for a while, how America seemed to start splintering after 9/11...and I think what a lot of the people who hate us overseas don't understand is that there's so many different kinds of people here that we can never agree on anything...so even if we are in Iraq, there's still plenty of us here who don't want to be. There's still plenty of us who don't act like the people do in the movies that go overseas, and there's still plenty of us who aren't ignorant and fat ( ... )

Also yeah, China's going to rule the world someday. Learn Mandarin now.

Thank you so much for all of that. :D Yeah, this fic helped me to vent a lot of frustrations I've been having for years. I get really frustrated with our country too, but I think the one really great thing about it is that we always have hope, no matter what shit we're facing, no matter how much we all can't stop arguing, we always have hope. I feel like the past election is a sign of how ready we all are to come back together and change things for the better, and I was going to work something about that in, but I didn't want to drag too much political opinion into it. It would've defeated the anti-polarity message. But yeah, I was always really cynical about this country, but I'm starting to feel better about it (pathetically, I think it's in part because of Alfred... but that's enough about that... >.>)

I'm glad to have inspired you. :D I'd love to see what you write when you're done.

And... well, I learned a bit of Mandarin cussing from Firefly. Head start?

I feel the same way...to be honest, being only eighteen, I didn't realize we in America were particularly nihilistic until someone mentioned how we are so much more cynical now than before 9/11...I guess because I don't really remember what it was like beforehand. And yeah, I recognize the same thing, that Americans always have some kind of hope. The nice thing about this country is we always band together when it really counts. Even now, when our economy's kind of falling in on us, people are still giving to charities and helping each other find work and volunteering their time.

...And I think that's one of the many things I love about Hetalia, too, is that for some reason it gives me a fresh view on things. Alfred especially, he's close to my heart. <3 Here's to a better future? Where one day our economy's all right and we're not the scum of the world anymore?

Also I dunno if cussing will help you with our new Chinese overlords. XD And if I do write something, it'll be up on the community soon enough. :D

Thank you very much. :D

America has a long, proud history of arguing with each other about everything. XD There's actually a South Park episode about this. And they aired it right when I was starting this fic, so I was like, "IT'S A SIGN."
