Our current apartment is now listed on our complex's site as available for rent in August. For the price we asked them to lower our rent to. I'd be annoyed, but I really like the new place :-) Plus, the new place is $200/month cheaper than even the lowered rent on our place (just ignore the fact we're renting two apartments for two months

I would imagine that the fact that you a) really like the new place and b) will no longer be renting from people who forced you to deal with this price stupidity in the first place should definitely outweigh any remorse from said stupidity ;->

Uh yeah, costumes... Um, I went as a professional runner? :-) From what I could tell, dressing up was largely for the relay.

And you're so right about the baby-proofing! That definitely factored into my thinking about this move - though there's a flight of stairs that we'll need to block off, we'll be able to make the bottom floor (living room/dining room/kitchen) kid-friendly more easily than our current place, which has the office basically in the living room. Plus, since we need to empty the dvd/bookshelves anyway for the move, we'll easily be able to anchor them to the wall (something we've put off up till now).
