Some facts about English language

Where does English come from?
We can't answer that question exactly, but here's a recipe we came across the other day:
50 grammes     Greek
75 grammes     Latin
400 grammes   Anglo Saxon
150 grammes   Norse
300 grammes   French (flavoured with Latin and Greek)
25 grammes     other mixed languages
Mix all the ingredients together.

where's german?? the anglo saxons un-germanified english...
i wish english stayed truer to its german roots.

to see = sehen
i see = ich sehe
i saw = ich sah
hmm... looks kinda similar... :P

maybe they mean German as one of "other mixed language"? ))))
I also heard that English and German were from the same group of languages.

Oh, I should add German in my wishlist! I like it)))
