Hello there, denizens of femmeslash land!
Ms M and I (and I'm sure you yourself) have noticed a distinct lack of posts in this community. This lack of posts made us very sad and sniffley, so once again we put our minds to trying to figure out a way of getting folks to be more enthusiastic about writing femmeslashy goodness about the many many brilliant females of 24.
So. We are hosting the first ever 24 Femmeslash Fic Exchange!
What does this mean, you ask? Well, I shall tell you.
The principle of the thing is really quite simple: You get a group of writers together and everybody writes a fic for someone else.
Once you get past the principle, of course, things get slightly more complicated, but this is made up for by the fact that they also get more interesting.
In order to participate in the exchange, one comments on this post with these little bits of information:

One item/situation/quote you want your fic to include:
Anything you absolutely do not want your fic to include:

Anything you absolutely do not want your fic to include: AU-ness. I want the fic to fit into canon, even if you have to bend the facts a little.
Anything that you absolutely do not want to write: fluffy or really graphic sex, Kate/Marie
Once the sign-up deadline has passed, requests will be matched with authors. You will be e-mailed a request from another participant and then have just over a month in which to write a fic for them, which you will post in this community when it's done. Thus we get lots of new fics and everyone gets a personalized one at the same time.
A few comments on the sign-up template:
- If you don't want to put your e-mail address in your comment for all and sundry to see, please e-mail it to me at jadethe2nd@yahoo.com instead.
- It is necessary to have three options for the pairing the fic will be about because (as I'm sure you all know) there are some characters and pairings that some people simply cannot write well, so it's only fair to give the person who receives your request a choice. For the same reason, I ask that you don't put the same character in all three pairings; for example, if I wanted to make my third pairing Michelle/Mandy I would have to change one of the other two to not include Michelle.
- You may specify different things for different pairings; for example I could've put (under preferred genre) "angst unless Sherry/Mandy, in which case humor".
- Please be specific about the things you don't want to read/write; for example, if you don't want to write graphic or extreme violence, be sure not to just put "violence".
There are also certain RULES which will have to be observed, so I will lay them out here:
- Be aware of the deadlines (detailed below) and do your best to observe them.
- If for any reason you can't make a deadline or have to pull out of the exchange entirely, please tell me. Comment on one of my posts, e-mail me, IM me, it doesn't matter as long as I get the message. I won't be mad at you, but I'll need to find somebody else to write the fic, so the sooner you tell me, the better for all of us.
- Pimp this exchange wherever you possibly can! (Okay, so that's more of a plea than a rule.)
- Be civil towards other participants (not that I think any of you wouldn't be.)
- Remember that you are writing a fic as a gift for someone and do your best to comply with their request and write something they'll like.
- At the same time, forgive the person writing your request if they don't quite manage what you wanted! It's effin' difficult sometimes, as you may well discover yourself...
- Have fun!

The deadline for sign-ups is January 23rd 2006. So go on, put your name down, get your friends to put their names down, and trust me when I say this will be fun!
