This is excellent! Very nicely in-character for both of them during this fantastic scene - and plus, I'm really glad to see some great fic inspired by LAD!

Thanks for posting.

This is really good. That scene was so beautifully, tragically intense, and I enjoy this very in-character look at Jack's POV.

Thanks so much for reviewing! I am working on the same scene from Audrey's perspective, so stay tuned. I am also going to go back to writing "Learning to Live Again" and write an alternative LAD finale, so stay tuned.

You're welcome! I'll definitely look forward to seeing how you envision Audrey's POV, and any other fic you're writing, too. There's not enough LAD fic coming out, that's for sure. :)

This is great!!! The thing about my fanfics is I can't really get into the characters' heads like this because that would destroy the twists (imagine if we knew Nina's thoughts from the beginning of Day 1 or knew what Navarro was thinking from the first episode of LAD as he talks to Kate). I love the show but Jack is just such a tragic character. Definitely write more stuff based on the LAD finale.

Very interesting-poor Jack, Especially this line:

She isn't mine to hold anymore.

You wrote! Nice job.

I like that you included his feelings about her being married, and having the life that he wanted for them together. Watching him talk to her on the phone when he was in the car with Kate reminded me of the scene in S4 when he talks to her with Ronnie in the car, and him telling Ronnie that he gave up being in the field so he could have a life. The way he looked at Kate, he knew that he could never have that with anyone, now. It was so sad.
