My number one pick of the fest: Something Good (Will Come From That) - amazing mashup vid of every conceivable Holmes adaptation

ACD fics:

Good for the Soul - magical realism, don't be put off by the pairings!

Mrs. Hudson's Unique Tenants - a very nice little slice of life at 221B with a delightful Mrs. H.

The Book of Life - gorgeous and insightful

The House of Usher - beautifully done merging of ACD and Poe's tale

Broken Silence - a startling new reading of the Reichenbach incident, starring the inimitable Mycroft Holmes

BBC fics:

Ford - a clever, twisted casefic that's sure to surprise

The Hedonic Calculus of Cuddling - lots of feelgoodness, fluff and friendship

A Case By Case Basis - a 5+1 journey of deduction and discovery

The Prince-Detective and the Several Types of Beans - a very fun fractured fairy tale with lots of wink wink nod nod

My favorite so far has been The Way to a Man's Heart, it was delightful and deep and had a scene I'll never forget.

Second two of SwissMarg's recs, the wonderful vid "Something Good (Will Come From That)" and the funny fairytale retelling "The Prince-Detective and the Several Types of Beans."

Really good Holmestice this year, nice variety of stories.

I especially loved House of Usher; Glitter in the Air, a magical-realism BBC Johnlock that I found, well, enchanting; and the clever and emotionally harrowing Ford.

ETA And I almost forgot to second the rec for "Case-by-Case Basis." Give it a go even if you think you're done with 5+1's.

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned, but I'd just like to add as well this wonderful story/art combination that delves into the fascinating history of the Great Fire of London in order to create an incredible backdrop for Sherlock and John to meet at St. Barts in a way both familiar and new:

Till the very fire touched them
