Seconding this. It's one of my all-time favourites. After finishing certain chapters I felt like I had to curl up somewhere and mourn. Gorgeous writing.

Note for John Watson fans: you may find this very or too dark and not just for the terrible things that happen to Sherlock. As it's an AU, and one that explores alternate timelines (a genre that usually involves at least a few extreme options), it means the author is freer to bend characterization in line with the imagined storyverse/s. You may therefore feel the author keeps close enough to JW's canon characterization or goes too far in certain timelines. I say this not to denigrate the author's work, but as a caution added to the ones the reviewer provided re: SH for JW fans to decide to whether or not this work is for them.
