It's an arresting, well-crafted look at Sherlock and addiction, from drugs to John. There's a brief bdsm passage that I sailed over, so I can't say how that fits into the behavioral picture, but the rest I solidly enjoyed.

The Negligence of Angels (23463 words) by wordybirdy
Rating: Explicit
Relationships: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Series: Part 8 of From Trifle to Infinity
Summary: When Holmes and Watson follow up on the callow trail of a multiple murderer, they uncover a deal more than they bargained for. And in matters of the heart, the two must each lend a gentle shoulder.
And! Speaking of holmestice, here are my favorite ACD fics so far:
Title: In a Family Way

Author: [redacted]
Characters/Pairings: Holmes/Watson, Mrs Hudson, OCs
Rating: R
Warnings: Mentions of depression
Summary: After the events of The Empty House, Holmes invites Watson to move back into 221 Baker Street. Watson does so, and brings along his two-year-old-daughter.
I just loved how Holmes finds his way to fit into the ready-made family, and Watson's reaction.

Normal Life (BBC, Sherlock/John and John/Mary, NC-17)
Really gorgeous, quietly aching prose.
Graceless (BBC, Sherlock/John, soft R?)
Delicate, excellent language.
We All Do Silly Things (BBC, Molly/Irene, PG-13?)
Brilliant Molly-voice.
Casualties (ACD, Holmes/Watson, PG)
Epistolary fic; Holmes's voice is really perfect, ranging from biting-sharp to quite tender.

You Say Surrender Like It's a Bad Thing (Elementary; Alfredo, Sherlock, Joan, Ken Whitman, Clyde the Tortoise; G; mentions of drug use). An excellent vignette of Alfredo in the sponsor role.
Sleekit (BBC; Lestrade/Molly; PG-13). So sweet and just... :D :D :D
