...run quickly along the woad. This extends to me as well, I think. I'd rather skip through the time between now and being with you again, but I can't do it by lingering under the eaves of houses, tempting as they might be...
Volunteering is always good! What did the volunteer-guy (erg...uh, forgot his name at the moment) do for a living?
I absolutely love that quote now. Thanks for sharing it. As for the weather, it seems as if I picked a good time to run away.
Instead of volunteering for the Democratic Party, try to volunteer for an individual candidate. I don't know about you, but I'm always happier to volunteer for a candidate I can be enthusiastic about than advocate for a party that's collectively done (and is still doing) things that I view as shameful. Parties are like factory farms, they'll scoop you up, milk you dry and toss your dead body out with the trash. Candidates on the whole appreciate their volunteers better... I like to think of them as more free-range types.
In terms of satisfaction, volunteering for a candidate does sound better. But I just worry it ends in November, whether they lose or win. They move on and I'm back on my own, scrambling again for something that would lead to employment.
Granted, that's just my pessimistic expectation. If you have experiences that refute this, I'd be happy to hear.
