Well, it's just that I found my the perfect present for my dad, and then I found the perfect ones for my mum and my sister and Tristan, and then I was afflicted by the horrible fear that if I waited to buy them they'd all be sold out, and so I bought them and because I had them I thought I may as well wrap them and then I found this really nice brightly-coloured paper and made an afternoon of it.

... And I really like wrapping stuff. It gets me all excited and it looks SO PRETTY.

I'm thinking of sending a Christmas card to my grandma, now that I'm all Independant and Grown Up and such. Saying, like, "greetings from Kiwiland, love your third grandchild who has rarely talked to you before now." You can see why I'm undecided.

Send Grandma a card or give her a call on Christmas. She is very attached to you, and would be touched by the gesture. I know how you feel; I felt all strange about seeing her again until I actually saw her, and then realised that time apart doesn't really matter.

I have not done any Christmas shopping because I am waiting for the German markets to open. Small things this year, I think. I will get you something gorgeous.

You think? Because I found this really quite pretty one with a kiwi and a pukeko and a kea with little Wise Men crowns, and it sounds tacky but it's a lovely illustration, and also would go well with the being-in-New-Zealand thing.

I worry too much. And also envision Grandma recieving it and wondering who on Earth it's from, even after reading it through. You know I'm paranoid and crazy, don't you? It's no news to you, yes?
