The hero never had to deal with manners he had never learned or a court that pretended to be for him but waited for every moment to stab them in the back. Heroes never worried about invasions from other nearby countries or imposing laws they had no idea of the effects of.

I used to follow a blogger who was very critical of this fantasy trope, and this reminded me of her rants. XD

the more he felt simply a doll with the word son imprinted on it to soothe a madwoman.

This is one of my favorite lines, and why I pity him so much for what you did in Lost Children. Pelleas would make a cute, melancholy doll, really. Also, hey, metaphor! Hahaha, shutting up now.

I also liked the parallels you wrote between the childhoods of Pelleas and Soren.

Really shutting up now.

Liemyaal? XD

XD Poor Pelleas. He's trying to be such a good boy but his mother is ~smothering~ him :< IT'S WHAT SHE DOES BEST.

They're the antithesis of each other and fascinating side by side. Really, they're perfect foils. Soren's utter selfishness and drive, Pelleas' self-effacing ways and timidness. There should be more side-by-side perspectives of them.

I DON'T MIND YOU GOING ON, REALLY :D
