Short David Boreanaz Interview in Australian Magazine This Week & Other Aussie Bones News

Jun 15, 2009 13:35

Found this today I was nearly wasn't going to buy it due to the fact that the magazine have lied to me about a certain article they were going to post as a big front cover drawcard which didn't happen.  I found this in this week's TV Week.

I don't know if anybody has read that this interview took place during the Bones Press Conference.  And David mentions that he and Jaime are expecting a little girl to be born next month.  But I read just after he announced the news that the baby will be due in September.  So maybe it could be wrong there is picture proof of the interview but I'll post the scan tomorrow.

But here's what was said in TV Week:
When I recently caught up with David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel from the hit series Bones, I was plesantly surprised to find they are both very much like their characters - she's intense, talkative and analytical, while she is laid-back, funny and nonchalant.

The series has been renewed for two more seasons, signifying in their on-screen partnership, but somehow, the show never gets any awards buzz - despite campaigns to capture Emmy and Golden Globe nods every year.  "It'd be nice," David says, "but we're used to being that show under the radar."

It's hard to believe it's been 12 years since David was "discovered" while walking his dog in Los Angeles.  His first TV role was playing vampire Angel in cult favourite Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then came to his spin-off series, Angel, followed by the role of Booth in Bones.  With three successful shows in a row, what does he know that other actors don't?

"I'm just lucky," David insists.  "The odds of having one hit show is like being struck by lightning, and I've been struck three times!"

Off screen, David and wife Jaime Bergman, a former Playboy model, have a seven-year-old son, Jaden, and they're thrilled to be expecting a daughter next month.  "The guy who picks her up on her first date at 16 is going to be scrutinised pretty badly!" David says, only half-joking.

Given the actor's tough TV persona, I have to pity that poor guy!

Also in other Aussie news David's directed episode 'The Bones that Foam' will be shown this Sunday night on 7 at 8.30pm after 'The Force' followed by Nathan Fillion on Castle.

Interview taken from a snippet from TV Week magazine out this week!

In ratings news I heard today, through TV Week Bones rated at #14 in the week of May 31-June 6th.  So it looks like Bones is back in the ratings game again
