Springtime - a Sirius drabble

Summary: Sirius enjoys his first spring after Azkaban.

Author's note: Set while Sirius is hiding out in the cave near Hogwarts.
Sirius scents new life on the breeze, and it tantalizes him, drawing him to the mouth of the cave. Snow lingers in the hollows, but spring has come at last. The bright green stalks of snowdrops jut from the snow, first pioneers of spring. Primroses bloom, pale petals bright against dark leaves.
But for this, his first spring since Azkaban, looking isn’t enough. He changes into his canine form and bounds from the cave. Mouth open, he drinks in the tingling freshness of the wind. He buries his muzzle in the blooms, snuffling in their scent. Surrendering himself to springtime.
Snowdrops and primroses are some of the earliest flowers of spring, and both should grow in the vicinity of Hogwarts. But I am by no means a botanist, so please forgive any inaccuracies.
