Some Valentine’s Day this had been. Cho snuggled into her already damp pillow, helpless tears soaking into its downy softness.
There was a timid knock, and Marietta’s voice called out. “You okay?”
“Go away!” But the door opened anyway.
Soft footsteps padded toward her, and the bed shifted as Marietta settled next to her. A reassuring hand on the back, but she shook it off.
“It’s Potter, right?” Marietta sighed heavily.
She made an inarticulate noise of protest.
“Ravenclaws are supposed to be smarter than this. Just forget about him.”
A fresh wave of tears started. Maybe Marietta was right.
