Blood Secrets - a Marauder drabble

Summary: The Marauders create a blood pact to protect Lupin's secret.

At first, Peter was squeamish, afraid. But finally, he relented. The four would perform a blood pact.
It hadn’t been Lupin’s idea, of course. James was the one for noble gestures. When Remus confided the truth, James wanted an oath.
Sirius did the magic, bits and pieces from secret-keeper oaths and unbreakable vows, mixed with ancient magic. Binding them with Lupin’s blood.
And it worked. Voldemort never knew when Remus infiltrated the werewolves, although Peter surely tried. Only Sirius found a loophole, for the prank on Severus, and so lost their trust.
When another secret needed protection, he wasn't asked.
