llama (LAH-muh) - n., a domesticated long-haired South American camelid (Lama glama) raised as a beast of burden as well as as for its meat and wool; also, cloth made from the wool of this animal.

I used to help this lovely Peruvian grandmother with her English. We were talking about food and she mentioned something that sounded like "ka-woo". I had friends with guinea pigs so I thought she might mean cavy. She said, "Yes! ...Good with chili."
