I just have to say it.

I really don't like Twitter.

Good thing no-one's making you use it then, huh? ;)

Do you know about the CSS tweak to delete the content of twitter-pushes to your f-list? You'll still still the post with whatever header the LJer puts on it, but no tweets.

('cos I'm guessing that's driving you up the wall, too?)

No one can ever make me use it. I just wouldn't work in my way of life.

I have 1 friend who uses it in a fashion I can read, and understand his reasons for its use, but some I honestly can't even figure out what its trying to say or do. Those times I just breeze over them.

Its not come to the point I have to void it from my friends list, considering I likely will be walking away form LJ anyway. At least in facebook, its easier to read.

I'm sorry to hear you're thinking about walking away from LJ.

Honestly, it doesn't update nearly as much as facebook now, and I honestly don't know how many read my blogs here (while over there I notice more do). Its just something I've been thinking about for a while now.

I hate them, too. ssfseiyakou April 6 2009, 17:57:57 UTC
One of my friends posted this:

Go here:
http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml?group=customcss

In the custom stylesheet box, enter this:

.loudtwitter {
display: none!important
}

Hit "save changes," and then take a look at your friendslist. If you're using S2, all of the LoudTwitter dumps will be collapsed (you'll still see the posts, but they'll be empty.) If you're using S1, God help you. My css-fu is absolutely and completely pitiful to the point of being nonexistant.

I did it. I don't see twitters no mo.

Thing is there are a handful on my f-list that use Twitter but its still easy to be read (its like facebook updates, just a single line each and so forth). Its just others have huge masses of stuff posted off twitter that make little to no sense what so ever.

Whether I read it or not, I just don't like it at all. Its not my bag, and never will be.

Glad I'm not alone though :)

I loathe Facebook and MySpace. They're just too cluttered and there's so much useless info. I like Twitter a little bit better because it's more concise (to me, anyway). But nothing will be like LJ to me. I still like this the best, even though so many have left/are thinking of leaving.

So I get where you're comin' from.

I hate myspace, its just a well of sick self promotion. I rarely use it.

Facebook is warming up to me. I'm not having so big an issue to follow it as I did originally. I do prefer LJ's format the best, but since few ever update anymore, its just not as good for communication as it use to be.

Agreed. I obviously don't go around reading people's twitter pages. Though I'm getting used to gliding right over the posts, I get a little irked whenever I see a twitter log on LJ. =_=

I never understood connecting twitter to LJ, since LJ is a blog...and twitter isn't. o.O

I have 2 friends on my f-list that use it and those twitter dumps are just goddamn annoying. The name is stupid and it's just some dumb fad right now and I'm already set up with LJ, Myspace and Facebook...that is enough crap for me to check.

I have one friend that updates via twitter, but its very simple to read (its like facebook, only one a small list of all the single lines, if that makes sense).

I just get confused by the ones where other people appear to be talking, and it makes absolutely no sense.
