I want an AU where the world knows mutants exist and Erik is running for something (the House, the Senate, what have you) in an anti-mutant district, on a fearmongering anti-mutant platform, but it's all part of some ~master plan to get elected and then either subtly do good for mutantkind or overthrow the government. You know. One or the other. And Charles is alarmed by the nasty propaganda this unknown candidate is spewing, so he asks for a meeting to try and persuade him with his degree in genetics that mutants shouldn't be feared. And he realizes there's something off about this guy, so he starts following him around and INVESTIGATING HIS CAMPAIGN trying to figure out what's going on, and, of course, they fall in love.

LONG PROMPT IS TOO LONG, sorry. Basically just Charles & Erik & politics. The rest is up to yoooooou!

EPIC PROMPT, OP.
You have brilliant plot ideas! I looooooveeee complex politicky things like this, the slash is just a bonus.
Would totally take this one if I didn't have exams coming up.

I'm gonna do this because it wouldn't leave me alone.
ughhh god i have an exam in two days why i am i thinking about this prompt instead of transactional analysis-

Anyway.
This prompt made me think of Batman, which makes perfect sense at 3 in the morning.
So then I thought: HEY wouldn't it be cool if it was set in Gotham City (with mutants) and it was Erik Lensherr vs Harvey Dent?
And Shaw is a crime syndicate boss and Emma Frost is his dame.
And Charles Xavier works for Comissioner Gordon and he's Inspector X instead of Professor X.
And Batman jumps him in an alley and tells him to go use his telepathy for the greater good or something.
And so Charles goes off to stalk investigate Erik.

So what does OP think?
