The kids go a little bit out of control (whether it's their powers or their behavior is up to you) after the divorce on the beach. Charles and Erik decide to sit the kids down to explain to them that while daddy and daddy are splitting up, none of that is their fault, and that daddy and daddy still love them, and they'll still see each other on holidays and major school events.

Awesome prompt is awesome!
I really hate to promptjack, especially with an awesome one like this, so ignore if OP does not want: To extend the metaphor a bit, one of the kids acts up about it and Charles and Erik have to have a SRS disagreement over who has to be the "bad" guy and discipline.

thisthisthis so much.
I'd write it, but I am terrified of dabbling in this fandom because I don't know the characters. though maybe I can go watch the movie again for ~research~...
would OP mind terribly if I have the kids scheming to get daddy and daddy back together?
lol I'm so sorry. I just had to prompt this.

And Erik's just sitting next to Charles, atealing glances at him and not saying anything. Maybe some noises of agreement. Buh.

That is flawless, because you know it's totally going to be Erik but Charles is going to think Erik will go too far (he totally will).
