FILL 2: Madness and Method [3/?]

Shock smashes him a hammer blow, and he reels backward on the wet tile, grabbing for the towel rack, wincing when its cold silver reaches into the depths of his being and burns him, a nonphysical burn that sears not at his flesh but at his mind. He releases it and tumbles to the floor, gasping and clutching his chest. The cold of the tile against his bare skin is nearly drowned out by the new sense that has suddenly come upon him, an extension of touch, taste, and smell, yet at the same time, none of these.
He looks wildly for the coin, and then sees it has come with him, a small unassuming circle hovering placidly in the palm of his open hand He can feel it, there in the palm of his hand, as sure as if it were resting on his flesh, warm and heavy and quivering like a heartbeat. He brings it to his face, disbelief tightening like a fist over his heart, and he thinks there are tears at the edge of his eyes because it can’t, it can’t, be true. But when he squeezes them shut, and opens them, the dream is not, over, the impossible

He dresses hurriedly, without ceremony, and goes, hardly thinking as his hand reaches out and plucks the coin from the bed. As he walks downstairs, the panic lessens, and by the time he reaches the ground floor he is astonished at the memory of it, almost shocked. It hardly feels like his panic; it’s as if the panic of another man had ridden into his system, sweeping him up. He doubts himself, and almost laughs. The coin feels bright and piercing against his palm

The coin against the side of his head burns like the barrel of a gun.

Oh, please don't doubt yourself! This is wonderful. The conflict between the two personalities and the panic and the confusion is amazingly rendered. You should be very proud of this fill; it's lovely.

Augh, no, you shouldn't feel self-conscious about your fill! See, I wanted to avoid things like that! D8 It is awesome. Although I may not read any more parts that you post until I am done with this, so that I can honestly say that I am not taking from you if they happen to converge somehow. But I will definitely read it all when I am done! <3

The only proper response for yours and the OP's support is to finish the next part and post it. *chugs mug of tea* I think I'll wait until I'm done to continue reading yours as well, just so nothing gets stolen (and also as a reward for actually finishing a fill, for once!).
D: Don't feel self-conscious, your fill is amazing! The two fills have very different styles, but I personally find that excellent because the same prompt is getting two completely different approaches, and they're both utter kickass awesome! I'm on tenterhooks for your story!
