The first time they have sex is so amazing, they sort of lose control of their powers.

i.e. every metal object within a mile has been mutilated, and Charles accidentally projects his thoughts about how fucking amazing Erik is in bed and all the dirty things he wants Erik to do to him to everyone's (who are staying in the same facility as they are) minds instead of just Erik's.
