Charles/Erik - Portal crossover AU, no powerstakmarierahJuly 31 2011, 02:52:21 UTC
So this may have been prompted before, but I'm re-playing Portal 2 and I was thinking it would be really cool to see a fic where Erik and Charles are (non-powered) test subjects at Aperture Science. It doesn't need to follow the plot of the games, but I was thinking that it would be cool if one of them was running the tests (in the role of Chell) and following the graffitied clues from a mysterious stranger (in the role of the Ratman), until finally they meet each other and team up. One of them would have an intimate knowledge of the facility and how to get around (and has gone a little crazed), while the other has the portal gun and the sheer determination to escape.
Even if it's just a little tiny thematic fill, I would love you forever and shower you in companion cubes! <3
So, looks like I'm writing this, if my notebook has anything to say about it. The warnings are for more for safety than explicit description, and if there is something that pops up that I missed, PLEASE tell me immediately.
I'm not much of a writer, but I'll give it my best shot. No beta, so all mistakes are mine; I can't say the same for the characters or setting. Here we go! ~~
At first, there was nothing.
Nothing but white.
Eyes focused slowly, a mind struggling to make sense of the space. Soft music floated through the air, like white noise. A few blinks, and the white came into focus. Eyes wandered. White ceiling, white floor, small white table, white radio quietly playing, white walls - no the walls weren't white, they were glass. Confusion. Glass walls? Awareness slowly returned to the body, consciousness becoming more than a pair of eyes. Throat burned slightly, head felt a bit light, chest ached with inhaled air, and an unpleasant ache spread throughout.
Why am I lying down? The first thought to break through

First of I love that "he" forgot, for the time being, that he was male; the careful avoidance of pronouns until that point and then the cold shock. I was wondering if you would go the forgets-everything route and I'm glad you did!
Also, companioooon cuuuube (I assume)! In all it's questionably-hallucinatory glory! :D
I hope we get to find out more about who these two are, inside of their roles. <3
OH HEY, author!anon: so I hope you are still around, both because I'd love to read more and also because I was wondering whether it would be all right if I also posted an art fill? But I don't want to detract from what you're doing so it would totally be up to you; I can always post elsewhere. It's just that the words "fan art" were said and then I got bored at work and now this thing is lying on my coffee table...

Do you want this to be period appropriate 1962 Aperture or future Aperture? Both?
At the very least you'll be getting some art out of this because it won't leave me alone dammnit.

I was thinking more future but honestly anything would be cool and if you do in fact fill this I will prance over hill and dale with glee!
